The Australian property market continues its upward trajectory with property values increasing by nearly 8% in the past financial year. CoreLogic reports a rise of approximately $58,000, bringing the median value to $794,000. Quarterly growth remains strong at 1.8%, matching previous quarters.



PropTrack indicates national home prices hit a new peak in June, achieving 18 consecutive months of growth. Using a different methodology, PropTrack reports a 0.15% monthly increase, with capital city markets showing a stronger performance compared to regional areas. The unit market also shows resilience with notable growth in both capital city and regional areas.


Eleanor Creagh, senior economist at PropTrack, attributes the growth to strong population increases, tight rental markets, and home equity gains. Tim Lawless, CoreLogic’s research director, highlights that despite high interest rates and other economic pressures, the housing market remains resilient due to tight supply levels.
